With a broad audience for the first ever Media Pro exhibition, it was the ideal opportunity for Denmaur Independent to promote their three main stock paper brands to designers, buyers and specifiers, and this was achieved through a trio tower theme at the exhibition. In what was probably the tallest stand at the show, each tower promoted a stock paper with associated promotional gifts and prizes.

The serious point being that companies are, and will be developing their Corporate Social Responsibility policies in preparation to meet more demanding supply chain responsibilities that will come with on-going climate change legislation. Marketing Director, Peter Sommerville felt it was therefore timely to highlight the environmental credentials of Denmaur Independent’s stock papers to meet these demands.

The fun element came with the chance to win one of three hampers with fine produce from the three respective countries of mill origin – Italy, Belgium and Germany. So a prize each representing Amadeus Triple Coated, Amadeus 50% Recycled Coated and UPM Fine Uncoated. Visitors to the stand were invited to answers three questions relating to the environment and paper product choices. Managing Director, Mike Gee, pulled the lucky winners entries from the hat, who were: -

Claire Hamblion, Portland Press, Peter Sergeant, Inc Direct and Deb Tyrell, Anglia Ruskin University.

Denmaur Independent also sponsored a paper seminar headed, ‘No CO2, No paper, No print, No comment!’ With all the interest in emerging e-media, it was time to promote the positive aspects of the paper industry and also to give buyers and specifiers an inside track on where cost and environment go hand in hand.

Speaker John Sanderson, Global Environmental Market Support UPM - Kymmene talked through sustainability issues, manufacturing processes and energy resources and finished his presentation with the thought provoking view that ‘if paper was invented today, it would be regarded as a great environmental innovation!’ Denmaur Independent’s very own Sales Director, Julian Townsend called upon his 29 years experience in  the publishing paper sector of the industry, to provide some practical tips and insights that could help save customers money and reduce the energy used therein.

Denmaur is poised to make further environmental initiatives over the coming year which will be posted to the company’s new page on their website www.denmaur.com
