REVIVE RISES FROM THE ASHES
Denmaur Independent Papers, one of the largest independent paper merchants in the UK, has relaunched the industry leading Revive range of recycled papers.
Having bought the brand name from the administrators of PaperlinX in November last year, Denmaur has been busy putting in place a comprehensive product and service offer, which includes papers for commercial print, as well as an unrivalled offer in the magazine sector.
Revive was officially launched at Denmaur Independent Papers’ COP21 seminar, held at the world famous Hippodrome Casino on the 26th April 2016.
Speaking of the recent groundbreaking COP21 Climate Change Conference, Denmaur Independent Papers’ Managing Director Mike Gee commented, “Paris provided a roadmap towards a low carbon economy for the future. Nearly 200 countries came together and that is a major achievement and an environmental landmark. On a smaller scale, we hope that Denmaur’s investment in Revive will play a valuable role towards sustainable printed media.”
Continuing, Gee stated, “Another industry first, demonstrating Denmaur’s commitment to COP21 principles, will be that the whole Revive range of recycled papers is offered Carbon Balanced for no extra charge. This gives organisations using the Revive range an opportunity to offset the carbon emissions created in the manufacture and transportation of the paper – this is a valid and measurable way of further reducing the carbon footprint of printed media, an important element in CSR reporting.”
Carbon Balancing will be offered via our partners the CarbonCo, the UK managers of Carbon Balanced Paper on behalf of the World Land Trust, who count among their patrons Sir David Attenborough, David Gower OBE and Chris Packham.
Commenting on the breadth of the range, Denmaur Independent Papers’ Marketing Director Peter Sommerville, commented, “The Revive range and its extension into the magazine brochure sector, represents a substantial investment for Denmaur. With 9 papers available in 4 finishes and a grammage range from 54-350gsm, the offer provides a platform for designers and end users alike to mix and match the look and feel that they want to achieve for their communications.”
The full range of Revive carbon balanced recycled papers consists of the following;
- Revive 100 Silk
- Revive 75 Matt
- Revive 50 Silk
- Revive 100 Offset
- Revive 100 Natural Offset

Nearly 200 countries met in Paris in December 2015 and came to an agreement on the need to cut greenhouse gas emissions is regarded by many observers as an achievement in itself and is being hailed as "historic".
The deal unites all the world's nations in a single agreement on tackling climate change for the first time in history.
What are the key elements?
- To keep global temperatures "well below" 2.0C (3.6F) above pre-industrial times and "endeavour to limit" them even more, to 1.5C
- To limit the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by human activity to the same levels that trees, soil and oceans can absorb naturally, beginning at some point between 2050 and 2100
- To review each country's contribution to cutting emissions every five years so they scale up to the challenge
- For rich countries to help poorer nations by providing "climate finance" to adapt to climate change and switch to renewable energy.
Developing countries say they need financial and technological help to leapfrog fossil fuels and move straight to renewables.
Currently they have been promised US $100bn (£67bn) a year by 2020 - not as much as many countries would like.
