    Denmaur News - October 2018

A ball, awards, a qualification and brilliance.

    Charity

Although we don't like to talk about it…… on occasions we do give to charity. In our September news you would have read how we started, and finished up with, the Revive dress!

Last month, we donated UPM Finesse Silk and UPM Fine paper for The Friendship Ball event programme. Held at the Natural History Museum, the star studded event was in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH Charity) and The Children's Medical & Research Foundation at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin.

We also donated Revive 100 offset for the World Land Trust's quarterly leaflet last month. The autumn newsletter features the ongoing project to save territory in Belize for its threatened jaguar population, and land gain successes in the Amazonian Andes and Mexico's Sierra Gorda ancient forestry.

All are important causes for different reasons but we're proud to be supporting them where we can.

    PrintWeek Awards

Denmaur Paper and Denmaur Media hosted a table each at this year's PrintWeek awards, held at the Grosvenor House in London's Park Lane.

We sponsored the Bespoke Magazine Printer of the Year and High Volume Magazine Printer of the Year, with Sales Director, Julian Townsend, on hand to present both awards on the evening.

This year's host was the amazing ventriloquist and America's Got Talent winner, Paul Zerdin. Needless to say, some of us did have gottle or gear of two on the night.

    Performa Brilliance

Our new Performa Brilliance swatch is now available on request. One of the whitest folding box boards on the market, Performa Brilliance 'sets new standards in every aspect relating to its technical and visual performance'.

Performa Brilliance will be used for this year's company Xmas card (260g/m²) and for our rather 'out-there' desk calendar (245g/m²), both of which will be sent out to our valued customers in the next few weeks.

    Another Qualification

Congratulations to senior warehouse supervisor, Craig Dilkes, on gaining yet another qualification in October.

Craig is now a qualified internal auditor, which helps with the maintenance of our numerous certifications. His other qualifications include: ITSSAR (forklift training), IOSH (health and safety management), HACCP (food hygiene management) and COSH (hazardous substances management).

An ideal phone a friend candidate, Craig has told us that his specialist subject on Mastermind would be The World's Strongest Man.
